Description

Solar MPPT Hybrid Water Heater Boiler Fothermo - 30 Litres 12V/230V

Hot shower in the caravan or motorhome. Anytime and anywhere.

A hybrid photovoltaic boiler generates hot water primarily from electricity or hot water directly connected to photovoltaic modules. This saves approximately 75% on electricity costs compared to a single traditional electric boiler. Optionally, a second 1500 W heating element can be installed in dark areas, and on cloudy days, the water can be heated using the 230 V mains supply. This ensures that sufficient hot water is always available. The hybrid photovoltaic boiler therefore replaces a traditional electric boiler 1:1. The photovoltaic boiler reduces electricity consumption from the grid by approximately 500 kWh to 800 kWh per year. The maximum water temperature in the boiler is 65°C. The photovoltaic modules are connected directly to the MC4. The boiler's photovoltaic plug is connected. No electrician is responsible for commissioning the photovoltaic system. The modules are necessary because the entire system operates on a low protective voltage. Especially in summer, every six months, excess photovoltaic energy can be fed directly into the grid via a 600W/800W photovoltaic microinverter. This also reduces electricity costs.

Scope of delivery:
1 x 30-liter photovoltaic hybrid boiler
1 x check valve and pressure relief valve

  • Safe starting thanks to operation at very low voltage
  • Safety valve included
  • Easy installation - only 2 wires need to be connected
  • Renewable domestic hot water - 100% renewable hot water supply thanks to solar energy.
  • No fossil fuels - the smell of gas or exhaust fumes when heating water is a thing of the past
  • Anti-freeze protection - easy water emptying in winter

Photovoltaics or battery? Now you can use both!

Decide whether you want to connect the boiler to the photovoltaic module or to the caravan's on-board battery.
A maximum of 1,500 Wp of photovoltaic energy can be connected to the boiler. It does not matter whether you use large or small, thick or thin, flexible or rigid photovoltaic modules.
You can also use excess energy from the battery and store it in the boiler - as hot water.

Easy assembly and connection

  • Connecting the boiler is simple, intuitive and takes just a few moments.
  • Plus to plus and minus to minus. This is all you need to pay attention to when connecting. You certainly don't need an electrical engineering degree for this!
  • Integrated reverse polarity protection provides additional safety should something go wrong.
  • Easy assembly. Only four screws. Mount the boiler in your camper with just four screws. You don't need more than a screwdriver. Installation is simple and safe.

Use excess energy from your existing 12V or 24V on-board battery

First, the battery is charged. When the battery is fully charged, the photovoltaic boiler turns on automatically. It collects excess energy and converts it into heat.
The battery can still be charged via photovoltaic modules, an alternator or, for example, from the mains.
Any lead or LiFePO4 battery with a voltage of 12 V or 24 V can be connected to the boiler.

Save on expensive batteries! Use your boiler as an energy store

The photovoltaic boiler acts as an extensive energy storage facility. Excess energy can be stored cheaply as heat, rather than expensively in an additional battery.
It takes 580 Wh to heat water from 15 °C to 65 °C once. From now on, you no longer need to store this energy in the battery.
The boiler draws all the excess energy as soon as the battery is fully charged. In other words, it is an extension of the battery.

Innovative and intelligent algorithms ensure even better performance

Choose one of 5 individual modes to optimally adapt the boiler to the existing energy system in the camper.
Algorithms measure excess battery energy and convert exactly that amount into heat. Everything works fully automatically.
Discharge the on-board battery for even more hot water. But only if you want it! Otherwise, only the surplus will be used.

Two digital displays provide maximum insight into the situation

The current water temperature, thermal power and the sum of all energy inputs can be read directly at the boiler.
A second display with a 5 m cable allows you to display the temperature from anywhere in the caravan.
A small battery in the boiler makes it possible to read the display readings also at night.
